How to set valve spring load?

How to set valve spring load?

I just got a camshaft kit with springs that say i have to set the load at 105 lbs @ 1.700" Does anyone know how to do this? i havent worked on cars since the 70's and i nvr did this.

you need to measure installed height with a gauge and measure spring pressure with a special tool. its easier to take them to a good machine shop that does performance work and has all the proper tools.

Seat pressure is only one part of having the valve springs set up properly. If the cam lift is too great, the springs can bind or the bottom the the retainers can contact the top of the valve guide/seal. Unless you have the special tools, having the heads set up by a machine shop is the best way to do it.
