Not sure what goes here

Hiya everyone. First time poster on these boards and I appreciate any help that the community might be able to offer. I have a '92 Camaro RS (V8 305) that was recently gifted to me and I have slowly been doing repairs to it in an effort to keep the car running and of course to try and improve it's performance. Recently I noticed that I was idling quite rough and that there seemed to be an exhaust leak coming from under the hood, driver's side. After taking a peeksy I noticed that a hose had detached and worse, that the female to female threading parts would not reattach without another part to connect them. General inqueries to Bing and Google all led me here so I figured you guys and gals were probably the best the web has to offer for these kind of things. Here's a pic of what I'm talking about.

Pretty sure the red circles are supposed to connect somehow. A friend I sent this pic to suggested it was an EGR Valve but he wasn't 100% on this.

this is part of the emissions A.I.R. system... I believe a one way valve goes there... you can go to compnine.com and look a blown up diagram of your emissions system and get a better understanding of what goes where and should go where there is a void...

Re: Not sure what goes here

Well looking at the picture of the PIPE,SECD AIR INJN I can immediately see that there is a threaded male connector piece that has been severed at the top which would explain why I am having an issue lol. My guess is that when it broke off, the VALVE,SECD AIR INJN CHK went with it . I had picked up a VALVE,SECD AIR INJN CHK at Advanced the other day but couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong in trying to connect it.

Edit:I can actually see that my VALVE,SECD AIR INJN CHK is still intact but could be replaced! The male piece for the pipe is a goner though ><!

Re: Not sure what goes here

I'm doing away with mine, got a new intake manifold and a set of headers. Isn't too expensive if you're interested in doing the same, and it'll improve your performance as well. What type of fuel injection is on the car?

He has to pass inspection which most likely involves a visual... judging by the picture he provided I assume it's TBI...

well what you could do is create a flare and merge a coupler or something ... you could most likely find something at home depot, or if you don't already have the tools, maybe a buddy of yours has a tool...

Oooo I'll ask around and visit a local hardware store. Someone suggested trying a union since it appears as if the pipe has threading on the inside.

After researching the differance I can almost 100% assure you it's a TBI. I'll post some more pics of the engine over the weekend as I fiddle with the A.I.R. injection system.
