engine needs more power!!
I know what to do to the intake and exhaust but i wanna do something to th engine block (besides replacing it) that would give me a boost. I was looking at some Edelbrock heads and was thinking to do hat but there was nothing in he description about it giving me more horsepower. if I replace the heads would that give me a boost from the 190 I'm probably pushing out now? if so how much??

You should probably do a little reading up on how the different types of heads increase power before you go into swapping things out. You can really mess an engine up. Especially if you dont get the valve timing close to right, you can make a piston kiss a valve.
Also the 305 with TBI, is going to be a dog no matter what honestly, if you want more power you can go with a carb or get a port injection setup. Gas mileage will go down with a carb if you cant tune it right though.
Good luck!

Ignore bandit, totally clueless. TBI is not an inherent problem. Once you do headers and exhaust, then you're ready to attack your real bottleneck, the heads and cam. they need to both be changed before you'll feel the benefit from either. The Edelbrock heads aren't a good idea, but if they're in your budget, then you can instead get the TFS 175cc heads which are intended for 305s.
the Edelbrocks having 2.02" intake valves means if you try to add a decent cam, those 2.02s will hit the block. With the TFS 1.94" intake valves, you can run a whole lot of lift without worry. Also, the TFS heads have smaller chambers to keep you from losing compression.
Before choosing a cam, which trans do you have, and what axle ratio have you swapped to? You did swap in some better gears, right?
