does a 88 camaro SC 5.0tbi have roller lifters?

was told they were only put in tpi motors.is it all v8 camaros from 87 up?

 

Not TPI specific at all.

All SBC's 87 and up.

All 87+ SBC's are made for hydraulic roller lifters.

 

Was there even a power increase when Chevrolet did this. Seem like a waste when they put miniature cams in them.

 

was told all 87 and up v8's had provisions for the roller set up.I had pleanty of 87-95 350's and they had flat tappet cams.was told only the camaro's and vett motors had the roller cam's factory in them.I just didnt know what years they were installed in camaro's.

 

hp did increase but the tq was noticable

 

you can find a flat tappet cam all the way up to 92 i think HOWEVER,all the blocks have provisions for a roller set up after 86
