91 rs wont run

i have a 91 rs with the tbi 305, the car will start if i use starting fluid but wont run after that. my fuel pump is coming on but sounds very very weak. like its not gettin enough power? i bout a brand new pump and same thing! i changed the relay and still same thing. i tested the ol pump with a 12 volt test pack and the old pump works fine just runs really weak when in the car.....any ideas?

Pumping Up The Power

Use the test-pak on the pump in the car by tapping into the pump wires post relay side.

Did the car stay running?

Pumping Up The Power

OK if the pump is getting good power but the injectors are not squirting:

Make sure the injector fuse is good.

If it is make sure the key is at the off position and disconnect the injectors.

Turn the key to the run position.

Check for power at pin A of each injector.

Do you have power on them?

Injection Rejection

10-4 on that.

If you did the test in POST 5, and there’s no power where indicated, connect a voltmeter across one of the injectors.

Using a side marker bulb, one side clipped to the battery
+ and using the other side as a probe, touch and release the probe to the wire going to pin C at the distributor.

When you do that, does the voltmeter move?
