I found an article on SD's 5.7 vortec head/intake upgrade with hp/tq numbers but the pic is too blurry to read. any chance someone has the magazine and can post a high res pic?

They made 357 hp at 4900 rpm, using the GMPP HOT cam & Edelbrock runners.

how did that motor idle atilla? I need a decent idle for smog. i know you mentioned dropping the CR a little for octane and emissions. also, are the exhaust mounts/ports the same from an original 350 to the vortec heads? I know this is off topic from my original question, but it's my thread, right? lol

 

It has a very good idle. Sounds about stock.
Whatever headers you were using will bolt up to the Vortecs just fine.
