Yet more engine problems...
Well, to the people that have been helping me try to get this motor to actually run, thanks. Theres even more problems.
Heres the rundown:
Roller 350 bored 040
Performer intake
Edelbrock 600 carb
New MSD Distributor
New Spark plug wires
New properly gapped ACDelco Spark plugs
Timing is 2*BTDC
Engine has ~300 sputtery, stalling, backfiring miles on it.
1st gear-
Engine has no power, bogs, sputters its way up the RPM's
2nd gear-
Still no power, sputters and fights its way up the RPM's
3rd gear-
NO POWER, engine makes a popping noise from the carb, backfires, then stalls out.
4th gear-
(If you can even get to it) Same as 3rd.
Thanks.

2 things in the back of my mind, that I keep wondering about:
Vacuum leak at the manifold gasket
Valves are not adjusted properly.
Thoughts?

I'm no expert at all, but 2* doesn't sound like enough timing advance - mine is set at 11 and I wonder if it's too low sometimes. What are you getting for manifold vacuum reading?

Re: Yet more engine problems...
I haven't put a vacuum gauge to it yet, but I plan to if I cant figure this out. The timing is set at 2 degrees before, with the vacuum line unhooked.
Does that sound right?
