HELP: Power Steering Leak

Okay, so I have a power steering leak and I need help. I was having a leak from the high pressure port out the back of the power steering pump, it kept ripping the O-rings on there. Also the pump had a little more play than i would like in a pump, so I decided to replace the pump and the high pressure line from a local auto parts store. Well, I still have the same problem.
Is this a common problem? What are some solutions? I tried not "overtightening" it and it spun loose, then i tightened it more and it leaked, when i took it out it looked like the o-ring was ripped. Im not sure what to do at this point.

Re: HELP: Power Steering Leak

You might have a bad motor mount.
I'm pretty sure on the saginaw pumps when the fitting is tight the hose will still move so that rules out the motor mount.

Re: HELP: Power Steering Leak

Was it a rebuilt pump or new maybe there's a Burr on the pump side cutting the o ring.

I locked at mine the saginaw pumps are a none moving fitting so you should look at your motor mounts put it in gear and stall it in reverse and drive.
And check for Any burs on the pump side fitting.

Re: HELP: Power Steering Leak

It was a rebuilt pump, no burrs on the inside of the pump.
It shouldnt be the motor mounts since the hose is flexible, not a full soild metal line.
This is a really annoying problem.
