Fuel Level Sending Unit Ohms

Hey guys, I'm buying all new gauges for my 1987 Camaro 2.8l Sport Coupe and need to know what ohms the fuel sending unit works with.

Sooner than later would be great!
Thanks

According to the shop manual for my '89 Firebird, 0Ω= empty, 44Ω=half mark, 90Ω=full.

Re: Fuel Level Sending Unit Ohms

question, I have a 1990 Camaro rs, my fuel gauge doesn't work, so I borrowed a buddies spare sending unit, plugged it in outside the tank, moved float to full and my gauge read 1/2, I checked ohms on sender, it went from 20ohms at empty to 115 at full, are these numbers correct or should it be 0 to 90 ohms, thanks for your help

Re: Fuel Level Sending Unit Ohms

IIRC, ALL GM fuel gauges from 1966 and later are 0-90 ohms (empty - full).

If you have it hooked up correctly, it's odd that at 115 ohms your gauge only reads 1/2 tank. One would think your gauge would be pegged over full. Perhaps there's something wrong with both the borrowed sender AND your gauge.
