Blown Head Gasket?
I bought a 86 pontiac firebird a month ago and noticed that it smokes. The smoke is white and doesnt really smoke at idle, but once you get it up there it releases a storm of white smoke. I also noticed that the engine coolant dropped and had to refill it and the engine had overheated a couple times but does not anymore. I also forgot to mention that the engine misses, but it could just be because the spark plugs are in need of dire change. Any Ideas on what this could be? Blown Head gasket, burnt vavles, etc? thanks for helping!

Sounds like a head gasket. The white smoke you see is actually steam. Look at your dipstick and see if the oil looks milky and look in the radiator to see if you have any oil mixed in the water, both are indications of a blown or leaking head gasket.

The oil doesnt look milky or anything but it does smell weird. the oil smells like chicken being barbecued on a grill if that makes any sense. I do not know if it makes a difference but the enginecoolant level dropped dramatically right after I gave it an oil change and it overheadted a couple times. Oh yeah I do not drive the car. Since I have bought it I only drove it off the trailer into the driveway thats it.

Blown head gasket. Open up the radiator cap and see if you see bubbles and that will confirm it.
