What to check when buying a 84 Camaro
What to check when buying a 84 Camaro
Hey everyone, new member from Montreal here.
Going to take a look at (and hopefully buy) a 1984 Camaro Saturday for $700.
I dont have much information on the car exept its a V6, automatic with 210,000 KMs.
I have no idea what to look at when buying one of these.
What should i be looking at exactly? Any common problems i should be aware of?
Thanks
P.S. im sorry if this was asked before, didint have time to search yet

look in rear wheel wells, floorpan especially rear for rust. if it has t tops look behing weather strip for rust. look at the weather strip along the door windows if it is missing or parts of it missing look at bottoms of doors for rust. thats the main rust problems you don't want a 700 dollar car thats full of hidden rust it will cost way more the it s worth to fix

just keep an eye out for anything odvious wires corded and any thing like that then look for oil leaks anything major i wouldent get into listen to it if it sounds decent take it for a drive test the brakes and the more you find wrong with it the more you can negotiate on the price

I wish i had a camera... that car was in such a poor condition it was sad. There was huge rust holes in front and behind the rear wheels and the front left wheel well was missing! The top plate was holding with a chain... Its too bad cause the engine seemed like it ran nice and the interior was fairly clean.
