power lag? ticking noise? hmm........ lets see

So,... i was at the shop today. One of my frnds was painting the sign on the wall outside for me. I gave him a lift home. starting kinda making wird noise like it wasnt breathing right,...... like it was kinda missing. Also seemed lik there was no power or it was very sluggish. SO!,..... i go back to the shop lock up and grab some tools so i can fix when i get back home. Pull driver valve cover cause that seems where the moise was coming from. And TADA! rocker stud snapped in half. rocker was just chilling there. So here is a pic of the polly lock nut with half the stud in it. figured i would make a thread bout this cause it might help someone down the road. I will show you how to get this stud out with out damaging the poly lock nut. here is a pic. Im gonna run to the shop and get this all sorted out i will post more pics in a lil bit.

so i will be taking my car to the shop tomorow gotta fix my ride befor i start on the other project. This is how you get a broken stud outta a stock head. take two nuts that have the same thread pattern. tighten one down then the other on top of it. the take a wrench and put it on the lower nut and wrench away. ill get pics tomorow to show how this works. stay tuned.

Here is a pic of how i set it up to loosen the rest of the stud out. Put a rocker arm nut down on it then a poly lock tightened it down on top of the rocker arm nut. the slid the 5/8 socket over the poly lock nut and loosened it out.

Here is the other one installed and then i was done. BOOM!

Hopefully this helps somone someday. Thanks and until next time PEACE!!
