HAD ACCIDENT
Few years back the car hit a guard rail on the passenger side fender and glanced the corner of that sides front bumper. Some time after that i noticed a small trans fluid leek coming from the torque converter seal, i had a guy pull it replace the converter, seal, filter, etc. i got the car back and it still leaked a bit from the seal. a few weeks ago i pulled the body panels off the car to replace and have the car painted and find that the passenger side frame support that the bumper bolts too is smashed in a bit..Im a bit worried it may have somehow tweaked something?? idk if these 2 things might be related or not i mean the guy very well could have f'ed up installing the seal but the coincidence is still there and is bugging me.
Ide also like to add the trans may have been leeking prior to the accident the converter was pretty lose in there someone backed offf the screwes a bit on it..
And i do not see any further tweaking of the frame as i go past that front bumper area.
Oh and i pulled the inspection cover off the other day too and its still leaking a bit from the seal area, its not leaking much the car has been sitting for 1.5 years and still has plenty of fluid to run/drive
So do you think its related? And if so what signs should i look for to tell, i can take some pictures if that would help in deciding but basicly all i see is that front peice of the frame smashed in a bit i mean can that tweak the transmition somehow to leak there? leme know what u guys think.
Thanks,

Re: HAD ACCIDENT
Ive seen front pump seal failures in cases where the trans to engine bolts were left loose or where the TC bolts were loose. The engine and trans, when attached properly, work as a single unit and its not likely that even if the frame is tweaked it would cause a seal failure at the front pump. Not unless the bell housing was cracked. Be sure that the TC itself isnt cracked where the hub protrudes from the housing. There is a welded seam there which I have found cracked before. It will show like a front pump seal leak but all the seals in the world wont help it.

Re: HAD ACCIDENT
u know what this reminds of a day on newyears eve when i was at a walmart parking lot and drove by poor camaro over the sidewalk embankment lmao..what ended up happening was i didnt make it over the cliff yet my car was stuck on something underneth..hmm just so u know the car sits so low i couldnt see a harision infront of me and drove forward like an idiot. i have some guy there with a diesel truck hook his chain up to it and drag it off the curb. I guess im going to theroly check the tran for any cracks i can fiind .. if i find none then the guy probly f'ed up pressing that seal in there ya think"?

Re: HAD ACCIDENT
i got under the car ttday and took a look at it every pan bolt on the passenger side had a bit of trans fluid in the middle of the bolt heads. a little bit of fluid was on the torqueconverter in the botm midle of the bottom of it where a small rectangular piece of metal is welded to it
"why i do not know looks like a small patch of some kind" but this thing is new so idk. i cleaned off all the bolts pan and everoything i could to let it sit and will see what happeneds.

Re: HAD ACCIDENT
Dude! Quit wrecking your car! The little patch of metal is a balance weight. Clean everything with aerosol brake cleaner and watch it while it idles. Hopefully you have a place where you can safely support it off the ground for this. It helps to have a good flashlight and a mechanics mirror to see into tight places.
