1000 miles is a pretty long haul for anyone.. is that one way? Depending on the model and it's condition, it might be worth the trip plus the expense of getting it back. If you dont own a truck, you could always rent one plus a trailer from U Haul. Any way you slice it, to get it home is gonna cost you something. Then, when you get it home it'll cost you something more if you decide to keep it.. Face it, No money = no car, etc. Kinda works out that way unless you can sweet talk the in-laws into bringing it to your door step?
Good luck

Her dads a truck driver and said he could bring back parts in his truck when he goes there, and from what they told me it has no wheels, got a dent along the passenger side, the rear window has been smashed out, it is a 86 sport coupe, with a 2.8v6, the main thing i would like from it is the window switches, the good fender, transmission so i can replace the turbo 350 in my 88, and the seats if they are not ripped..and its 1000 miles one way, 2000 altogether!!!

Unless the price was dirt cheap, thats a very far trip for a donor car.

That transmission will not bolt to your 305 if it's an automatic (if the 2.8 is an auto).
I'd say have 'dad' yank out the switches, and take pics of the seats for you.
