i've been putting together this engine and i noticed i had some gaskets left over...it was a rebuild kit that i got but the guy just did the top end so idk what these gaskest are but they come in the intake pack. i attched a pic the ones i'm asking about are circled...obviously. any help appreciated.. i know what the intake and valve cover gaskets are and one is the t-stat housing. any thoughts on all the other gaskets is nice too. thanks in advance.

Looks like the ones that goes between the two pieces of the manifold. Don't know why there are 4 of them..maybe the gaskets changed sometime.

Re: what is this gasket...2.8 V6

Check wich one will fit on to your manifold. When i had 2.8 then i noticed that it looked outside like it had 4 runners, but when i lifted the upper piece, it only had 3 on one side or somthing, dont remember exactly, it was 2 years ago..Anyway, I think this gasket kit came for v6 engines that were used. So maybe there is like manifold differences between 2.8 and 3.4 or 3.1 engines

Re: what is this gasket...2.8 V6

that would make sense but i got it in a rebuild kit for a 2.8. i have just not been able to figure it out so i have some gaskets just sitting around that i have no clue what they go to. and since the car isn't running right i was thinking maybe it coould be one of these gaskets not being on and it messing things up..

The extras are for the FWD V6 engines I believe.

Re: what is this gasket...2.8 V6

In that pack, which I'm assuming is the FelPro MS93020, you need the 2 small gaskets, the tube of RTV, the 4 gaskets on the bottom, and the 4 in the top left corner. The round one with the corner on it is for the 3.1, and the other is for a different version of the 2.8 (the ones right above the gaskets on the right side of your circle). The 2 gaskets on the right in your circled area are for the upper plenum on the FWD MFI engines. You NEED the ones on the left installed between the upper and lower plenums, or you'll have a vacuum leak.

Re: what is this gasket...2.8 V6

must have just been easier to package them all together than to take time to only put the needed ones in it...i did put the ones on the intake for the upper to lower intake but i have so many pieces left it's crazy. i just didn't know what all the extras was for...thought maybe the guy before me didn't put something on...making it run like poo.

Re: what is this gasket...2.8 V6

It's a universal MFI 60* V6 kit... Covers all engines between 85 and 95 (except the 3100) that don't have TBI injection (S10 and Lumina APV). So it has the extra gaskets. Too bad it doesn't have the later style EGR valve gasket in it, though.
