need some setup help looking for any and all opinions
ok im just gonna dive in because i dont see an easy way to slide into this. i have a 350 crate motor heres the specs for that http://www.crateenginesbygm.com/12499529.html
now i just went from having the stock tpi with 19 pph injectors and a cold air intake to the edelbrock high flow base and runners, airfoil, 26pph injectors, and ported the plenum myself to match, and the hp gain from that felt like a whole lot of nothing. now at this point i know im in severe need of a chip but i figured with all that extra air i should have felt something. the only thing else i could think of was i was putting more in then my heads could handle and i have planned on buying these heads http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-5089/ unless you know of something better for about the same price, or if you guys think its a different problem all together. i also plan on headers and a y pipe and possibly a new throttle body to be going on at the same time. i want to rev to about 5500 and was wondering if anyone had done something similar to this and what size cam would be good. im good with the mechanical stuff but im not any good at engine building so any and as many oppinions as possible would be great thanks guys

Re: need some setup help looking for any and all opinions
I need to apologize up front that what I'm about to type is gonna seem unfriendly and critical, but I don't do niceties, I do blunt facts.
The time to have asked us was before you wasted all that money.
What you have now is a new 350 that wasn't machined for stock-style roller lifters, has the worst possible pistons, and a mis-matched, crappy cam.
And it cost you twice what it had to.
So, considering what you're now stuck with, the best possible move is to forget aluminum heads, unless you can afford the Trick Flow 175 cc heads, available from www.summitracing.com. These have 56 cc chambers, so you could get around 9.9:1 static compression.
If you can't afford those, then you should get some RHS iron 64cc / 180cc heads.
Also, you'll need a better cam. I'd say a COMP 218/224-112 would be my first choice, but I'll bet that DD2K would show better numbers with a 216/228-112. However, driving feel means more than virtual dyno results.
Couch is gonna chime in and say that the Dart Iron Eagle 180 heads are better, but the flow, out-of-the-box, is virtually identical, and the initial price is at least $100 more. And to be honest, both have the same potential, ported.
