Ok.. so i have a 1988 camaro rs with a 90s 3.1L engine. the starter was bad toke it to autozone it failed so i got a new one. it started.. next morning. it didn't want to fire. toke off the alternator toke it to autozone.. it failed.. got a new alternator and a new duralast battery while i was there hooked it all up.

1st crank it sounded like it was gana go but die or choked.. same thing happen 2nd and third try.. then last try it just started to whine.. then turned the key one more time.. and whined again.. wont start up...

please help..

so new alternator battery and starter..

edit: oh yea and new sparkplugs too. ehh..

 

hmm could it be a bad fuel pump? or something dealing with the fuel??

one guy told me starter might nee shims but it started with out the shims before.

 

hmm ok.. i messed with couple of wires under the steering wheel that where loose. The car Started right up. BUT now.. the lights that are near the doors stay on even when the doors are closed.. How can i fix this.. issue now..

 

Sound like u need to go through all the wires using a DMM and the wiring diagram and make sure everything is alright. More than likely you have a short to power somewhere in the wiring if the lights are on and stay on.

 

hmm yea guess i should take it to a guy. cuz i don't have one. and i just bought this car. and started to look threw all the engine bay and there's some loose wires here and there and some not plug some plugged and what not..

sigh.

 

When I bought mine a few years ago nothing in the interior worked. The previous owner installed an aftermarket gauge cluster and spliced all kinds of things together. I simply spent about 30 minutes tracing wires and everything was working just like new after a snips and a little solder.

 

hmm.. if my car is a 88 and a 90 engine which harness would i need to get cuz i think ima just buy a brand new wiring for the car.. and get someone to do all the hook up..

 

If you know someone who can hook it up, have them take a look at it before buying anything. They might be able to find and fix any faults and save you some money.

next month and then the other harness laters then once got complete electrical harness try to get help and put it on. plus i think this way i can take out a lot and redo a lot of things. but not sure what to do honestly. lol i guess ill end up letting it sit for a while while i gather parts and then jump on it.. when i can
