Lock cylinder doesn't turn all the way

Have a 1986 Camaro I-ROC Z28. never had a problem turning it on but now the lock cylinder doesn't turn all the way. It does turn to on but when I try to turn it to the section where the starter kick in it stops. I have read a lot of other cylinder issue but not one like mine. I'm guessing I will have to replace the lock cylinder... I'm I correct?

You probably need a new cylinder. One thing to ponder; I had a problem with a warn out key. I would just for the heck of it try your spare or original key and see if your problem is still there.

Thanks. I went ahead and took it all apart. I have the cylinder in hand and it stops before turning all the way. I will install the new cylinder tomorrow. Hope this takes care of it.
