Not something your average home mechanic would need or keep in this tool box unless you are doing full rebuilds on a regular basis .
Normally only change cam bearings on VERY high mileage engines or when block gets hot tanked

Thanks for the fast reply vette,I was referring to the price vs quality aspect.
I was under the impression that cam bearing tools cost $60 on up,and seeing one at 30$ was a shock.

But, since we are on the subject of when to change bearings,my motor looses oil pressure when warm,I'm going to do a main and rod bearing overhaul and thought changing the cam bearing would be a good idea also.
But after reading your post and reading that cam bearings rarely go bad im having second thoughts. If i could get away by not messing with them, it would be great.I do not plan on getting the block hot tanked. Thoughts?

Unless you have a known problem with cam bearings I personally wouldn't touch them.
As you are aware , most pressure drop off is from excessive clearance in bottom end

Could you give me examples of problems cam bearings can cause?

I was thinking that since the engine had low/no oil pressure bad enough to damage the bottom end,the cam bearings had to suffer some.

Chicken or the egg?

Did it have low oil pressure say from a bad pump that damaged the bottom end due to low oil pressure
or is it as most commonly found ;
the bearings and crank journals are so well worn ,that the oil pressure bleeds off when oil thins out as it heats up.
Can only be fixed by grinding crank and fitting under size bearings to bring clearance back to spec
Cam bearing are not under the same type loads as crank bearing so seldom wear
