Tapping Issue

I installed a umi box sub-frame connectors (welded) an at first going into reverse the exhaust pipe taped it an when in drive it'll go away. now after a few monthes when in reverse no sound nor drive, then another month later still no tapping in reverse but in drive from a stop then go from 2.5k+ it'll tap (I think..) so i checked under the car and the exhaust pipe to the tranny (the hanger) was rotted so i replaced it and bent it down a bit. Now when driving the tapping is very little but i can still hear it. I checked under the car and the distance from it is pretty big i think maybe an .5"+ or so.. so i don't know if thats really what the tapping is or something else. My car has a 700r4, stock exhaust size, its a 305v8tbi. I'd like some help trying to figure this out. Also is there a type of rubber block or something i can squeeze between the exhaust pipe on the passenger side thats close to the subframe connector? I don't know of any material that can withstand 500+ degrees F.

thanks,
timinsk

Re: Tapping Issue

Hey I would get the exhaust as tight as you can but this dont make since from what you did to the car but check all the exhaust mounts make sure theres very little room on them... My 86 right now the passenger one taps when im turning still need to fix that but the person who had the car before me had a gravel road that it use to bottom out on so that's why mine is tapping...
