Comp cam part number location?

So I got my cam out and I was trying to find out the part number but I cant seem to get a solid number. Where does Comp cam put their part number at?

Only clear thing I see is on the front which says ''280-H''

Re: Comp cam part number location?

280H is the grind number, that's the important part.

Ok, I was trying to figure out lift duration ect.

Are cams with a 280h grind number have the same specs or does it differ by model number?

Re: Comp cam part number location?

As long as you stay within the same engine "family", two different cams with the same grind number should have the same specs. For example, a retro-roller cam, a factory-roller cam, and an LT1 cam will all have different part numbers, but the same duration, lift, LSA, etc.

Go to http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/cam-specs/ and enter the grind number, then find your application in the list that comes up.

280H in a SBC should be a 12-212-2
