manual gauge water temp

manual gauge water temp

can someone explain where this goes on my engine? my stock water temp gauge does not work and i need to know how hot its running i have a 1986 trans am, it was a tpi working on carb swap.

There's probably a nice place by the thermostat available for that, or possibly a plugged port in one of the heads.

Find the factory temp gauge sender unit in the head ( single dk green wire ) and install the probe in its place

Most likely on your driver side head or passenger side head. Be careful if you have coolant, it'll all come out once you pull either plugs out of the head. So try to be quick!
