high coolant pressure problem
I start my car today and before it got to operating temp, the radiator hoses were very pressurized. So much so that the coolant shot past the hose clamps on the top and bottom radiator hose... Anyone ever have this problem, or have a solution to make it stop, or think i should check something???
Things checked:
Oil= full, not milky.
Fluild lvl= low, filled...

Re: high coolant pressure problem
the radiator cap is what limits the pressure.
they are considered worn out when they are 2 years old.
you can use a pressure tester to look for leaks in the system.
at maximum system rated pressure, the system shouldn't have any leaks.
loose hose clamps are a common cause of leaks, especially if new hoses were put on and the hose clamps have not be retightened at least once in the first 2~300 miles.
