Oil leak
Oil leak
Wazzup, I have a 90 camero rs 5.0 tbi. I have a oil leak coming in past the pcv valve into the air filter housing. I changed the pcv valve already but the pcv filter is still just soaked with engine oil. The air filter and housing has oil everywhere. What is the problem, any help appreciated

Re: Oil leak
The PCV valve does not go into the air filter housing. PCV should be in the left valve cover and the air vent in the right cover The pipe from the valve cover to the Air filter is the air inlet that allows air to enter the engine and then be drawn through the engine by suction controlled by the the pcv valve, into the intake and burned in the engine. Either excessive blow-by or malfunctioning PCV system is your problem.

Re: Oil leak
If I remember correctly if your PCV valve is stuck closed excessive crankcase pressure will build up and blow oil into the vent tube that connects to your valve cover and take some oil with it backwards up to your air filter.
