Quick question concerning a set of 1984 305 heads.Will this year head bolt on will no problem onto a 87 and higher 305 block.

Block, yes.

The 87-up intake however will NOT bolt to those heads without some work. Very minor, but "work" (now I gotta go was my mouth out with soap for using 4-letter words, like my mama always used to make me do) just the same.

You'll need to elongate the center 2 bolt holes on each side, in the inward direction, so that the bolts can go in at the same angle that the other 4 on each side do; and you may need "angle washers" to go under them, which you can get from McMaster-Carr among other places. www.mcmaster.com

And of course you'll have to use 86-back valve covers, with the bolts around the perimeter; and 86-back rockers, WITHOUT the little "rails" that center them on the valve stems. All very minor trivial eeeeeeeezy stuff.
