Vortech 4GP218030SQ and a 290 hp gm crate motor is it safe? haha or will i be wasting my time and only drive it for a second before it blows......

 

What is the cond of the engine?

 

its brand new the motor but after i brake it in i wanna bring it to the track

 

How much do they want for it? if you don't mind me asking

 

Uh what's the compression ratio on that motor? I'm not very knowledgeable about forced induction but I'm not sure the rings will withstand that kind of abuse.

 

theres a couple diffrent vortech superchargers and they say its for stock or slightly modifyed engines i just wanna see if its worth it just for a extra couple of hp but if it isnt safe illl just get another motor ......and it costs 2,700 for that particular one

 

Uhh well it is a GM built crate. My thoughts are it's a solid block.

 

I would think so, especially for the price.

 

It is the bottom of the range , most basis crate engine made by GM .
Nothing special.Just ordinary garden variety parts
Not intended for Perf apps
