Re: 350 vortec??
Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
Stock Vortec valve springs can't take much more than stock Vortec lift & RPMs. Aftermarket valve springs are a must.
If you go with beehive springs, you can also gain more valve travel. Otherwise, don't exceed .480" lift without pulling the heads and having the top of the valve guides cut down (actual lift # reports vary - some say they've seen unmodified Vortec heads that couldn't handle .440" lift).

Re: 350 vortec??
Vortec heads are good and with a little bit of machining they are impressive to say the least. From what I have been told, it's best to not run anything bigger then a .430" lift cam on stock heads. If you pull the heads and send them to a shop they will set them up (relatively cheap) to accept a much larger cam; such as the LT4 Hot Cam .525" lift. On this setup you can see 400 horses pretty easily.

Also read this, goes into a lot more detail. One other thing, try to type and spell correctly, it makes people take you seriously and want to help you instead of getting pissed off trying to read lazy type like kno and wat. You will get more quality help by speaking like a grown up.

Re: 350 vortec??
You plan on keeping the motor fuel injected? If you switch to carb, it will fit just like any other small block. If you keep it fuel injected you might have to take off that airbox they have, I don't know.

Re: 350 vortec??
Yeah I would probaly keep FI. I was curious about accesories because I hear with an LS swap , if you use motor form truck you have to get car accessories. I would probaly delete AC so it sounds like it would work good.

You can use everything that comes off the front of a 3rd gen V8 on a 96-98 Vortec 350.
