small backfire from engine

hi i had installed some headers on my 84 ta and i han ran it to see how it sounded. it didnt sound like i thought it should so i took off my valve covers and i had notices that the 8th cylinder exhaust rocker was off and that the pushrod was stuck. after i fixed that i had gone to get an exhaust system and noticed that there was a small pop coming from the engine. when i went to the back of the car the exhaust sounded uneven. my question is even though i replaced the lifter and pushrod could the cam lobe be messed up because it still backfires. much appericiated for the feed back.

Re: small backfire from engine

Possibly, but could also be a bent valve. Were you able to determine why it happened in the first place?
