Is it safe to unbolt ac lines?

Ok so im beginning to remove my 305 from my 92 rs. Its got a blown head gasket. Ive got a lot accomplished today. I just got to the ac lines. Is it safe to unbolt them or will the pressure be too high that it could be dangerous or harmful to me at all? Thanks

Best if you evacuate the system first.System is under a bit of pressure. You could open the low pressure valve & let it out that way, but thats illegal.

You should be able to move the pump to the side of the engine bay so its out of the way. Use some zip ties to keep it in place. This way you wont need to disconnect the lines and should give you enough room to work.

Low pressure side is the valve on the aluminum cylinder by the AC/heater box.
Remove the P.S lines from the box, leave the pump inplace.

I took the entire a/c system out of my car while it was still pressurized. You need to have the radiator out and once everything else is unbolted you can lift it all out.

I was planning on putting it back in until I knocked something over in the garage that fell on it and pierced the condenser and she started hissing..
