replaced steering column nightmare
My original steering column was loose. The holes for the tilt pins were oblonged causing the column to be severely loose. I got a used one from Third Gen Ranch. I have just installed it and had to tear it down to tighten the 4 screws. During shipment the key in the new column had gotten bent, so I replaced it with my original key (vats). I put everything back together and now it will not start. I can turn the key on and the radio comes on, the fuel pump comes on, blinkers also, but there is no movement on the gauges and the car won't even bump start. No lights at all in the gauge cluster( seat belt, air bag, battery) nothing... I tore the column back down to the point of tightening the tilt bolts and dropped the column down some to check the rod for the iginiton. I am fed up. any help would be greatly appreciated...

You said you are using your orignial key - when you installed YOUR key cylinder back in the new column, did you reconnect the VATS wires from your old key cylinder to the VATS module under the dash?
