I'm guessing that motor has a block-mounted fuel pump? (don't know, haven't ever looked at one, every time I see one I avert my eyes in shame)
If it does, it needs a new fuel pump. The rubber diaphragm in those has pressurized fuel on one side, and crankcase on the other; so if the rubber breaks, guess what.
See my signature for a helpful hint about logic in general, which applies to this situation.

Interesting how a little history helps shine some light on the cause of things, isn't it?

Most likely you have too much fuel pressure. I don't know much about those carbs, except that they're a total steaming bucket of sewage; but that'd be the first place I'd start.
After changing the oil of course, so that the motor doesn't explode. That kind of makes a mess. Oil goes everywhere, and then you have to pull it and change out all the sheet metal parts. At least, I'm guessing one of those has sheet metal? (oil pan, valve covers, and such as that) I don't really know.
