Re: oil pressure

My book says 18 psi minimum @2000 rpm. On my LO3, the oil gauge always stays under 30. Usually about the 1/4 way mark once its warmed up. But I don't think the our gauges are very accurate.

Re: oil pressure

Mine is always 30 or higher - the only time I saw it under was when I was losing oil (a leak I fixed). When cold it will be higher, and should also increase with rpm's to a degree. Mine is about 60 when cold, comes down to 30 when warm, will peak back to 60 when I gun it in park.

It's going to vary alot with individual cars - these factory guages are old, tired, and never worked well when new. You could try a new sender and see if there's a difference. Clean fresh oil and having crankcase full of oil always makes a difference. Remember - check oil cold.
