Just bought this camaro off a kid READ THE ADD its very intertaining..i almost feel bad..but HERES a quick question for you. looking at the problems he is describing with the cars starting problem. where should i begin to look to fix it?....im assuming the car has been hacked by the p.o. i bought it for the interior and plastics for my 89 gta but im going to put this one on the road as well....what do you guys think?

looking at those pics, not to bad for $400. Will you be able to secure a title? I would start by checking fuses and tracing wires. Could be something as simple as a loose or broken wire. Do you have a service manual with a wiring diagram in it?

lol yep i will be getting the title..and its black we are in an ice storm here in kansas right now..and yes it does run, just has a small problem i can jump the starter and it fires right up..$400??? well no cracked dash pad..center console is great...interior is a 8 out of 10..so ive payed for it there..also no rust in the car anywhere..cant beat $400 for that..now i can put the interior in my gta and have a finished trans am (thats all im lacking was the black plastics) then take the camaro and put my grey plastics in it..fix the ignition problem wet sand and wax and maybe put it up for sale..this will pay for my motor upgrades im looking to do in my gta

You should have asked him when the ignition problems started. Maybe he didn't properly install the ratchet shifter and it's tripping the neutral safety switch?

 

Im also in this camp. My car cost $300, it spins tires at will and its sweeeet. (Waiting on title. Military guy, other state involved.)

My 88 cost me $600. Had a stock low mileage 97 5.7 vortec motor. Straight body but faded paint, interior 6 of 10, crappy wiring job, and a blown 700r4. But the car came with a good junkyard transmission. So I got a pretty dang good deal too.

 

Not a bad find. Body looks better than mine, I got mine running (poorly) with severe rear quarter damage on both sides for 300 bucks. Fix it up slowly, make it a project.

Trust me, its sweet. The hood has those race pin-lock things, and the guy put "Edelbrock" on door handles, and the floor mats say Mercedes Benz...............

$400.00 bucks???? Tell me you're kidding. Great deal man. Congradulations on that. I'm buying a White 87 Iroc Z from a member here for $800.00. The car looks great, starts right up, it needs the drivers side floor repaired but otherwise it's in great shape.

got my 87 tpi z28 for $700, needed a water pump, body is rust free car is all original and in primer, interior was 7 outa 10 minues the dash pad but i had a mint on for it, only issue was the spedometer was broke the water pump was bad and had no headliner, for $700 and will run its *** off lol
