new engine in, now what

soo i just finished building my first motor, a 1973 sbc 400 . 60 over to a 410. i put it in a 91 camaro rs. now i need to know what to do now. i got it running and broke the cam in but had to shut it off quickly cuz the rockers started coming loose. i need to know the procedure for this action of tighting them down again and any other steps i should take to do to the motor. anything will be appreciated thanks

I'm assuming your talking about valve adjustment and setting the lash...correct me if I'm wrong. Here's a good read for the process

I adjusted the first 8 at #1 TDC, and the other 8 at #6 TDC, they actually didn't make a sound..
Do you have the rockers with the locks, or no?

Make sure they are torqued (50 lbs outghta do it) Then recheck adj. Make sure rollers are in good shape on the rocker arms, rocker body etc isnt hitting the retainer, etc, little stuff. Check for broken springs (far fetched but you never know). Youll find it.
