Dont know where to post but need help

Hey guys, so I got my 85 camaro about 2 months ago (I'm pretty sure it's a Z-28 as it has a 305 Carburetor, and I-roc markings). The stock gauges did not come with a tach. and when I crank the car it feels like it's idling fast even after warming up.

1.) should I look into getting an aftermarket tachometer?

2.) is there any possible way to control the idle (how fast or slow it is)?

I'm obviously a noob at all this...BUT I"M TRYING!!!

An IROC would have been equipped with a tach. You might want to take a peek at the following link:

Sorry, my impression was that you were saying the car had IROC markings. The idle can be adjusted on a carbed car. You might try reposting in the Carb forum for better (and more reliable) answers than I can provide.

Good luck with your project.

you'll need a timing light anyway, and since your tach doesn't work, here is one way to get the rpms
