exhaust smoke
exhaust smoke
hi guys
im having a problem with exhaust smoke....when i start my engine which is a chevy 350 about 2 minutes after a clear greyish like smoke comes from the exhaust...after i let the car idle for about 10-15 minutes the smoke clears...from what i understand if it were piston rings it would smoke all the time and if it were vave seals it would smoke soon as started up.could this be a carb problem or pcv...smoke smells like gas to me...any suggestions on what this might be would begreatly appreciated

Re: exhaust smoke
Oil smoke usually has a hint of blue to it and it would not go away when the motor runs for 2 minutes. (Plus you'd notice a large amount of blow by if it was the rings).
Grey smoke means it's running rich; this would also explain your fuel smell.
