Buy a HAYNES manual from your nearest autoparts store. It will give you a good summary so to speak about your car that you can read about. Everything else can be found on here more than likely.

what ever became of the issue you were having? Did someone take it to the shop and get it fixed? If so, what was the result?

Buy the factory shop manual from Helm's Publishing. It is the absolute best resource for every system on the car. If the engine has been swapped, the factory book will help you see where the original and the swap in meet each other.

I was going to say GM shop manual as well. Haynes/Chiltons are comic books compared. I have 2. 1 for show, and 1 has the cover covered in duct tape that I use/read when I need it.

Open hood and dig in, No I'm kidding. read some mags, tech articles, threads here and try and gain some basic knowledge (what items are, IE radiator, alternator, p/s pump, spark plugs, air cleaner, valve covers) and learn some basic safety concerns IE not working on a running engine unless you know what your doing, Not touching hot parts with bare hands, using a jack and jack stands ( do you trust a 15 cent o-ring with your life?) etc. And have some fun!!!!
