Cold starting

It seems that if the temp is below 60, my 89 camaro won't start right away. I replaced the IAC valve this weekend, which helped it idle better when it warms up. I read in my manual that there is a cold start valve. Don't know if that is the problem. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Re: Cold starting

What do you mean it won't start right away? DO you mean it cranks for a long time before actually starting?

What about after it has been running?

I ask because it may be the same problem I'm having.

Re: Cold starting

Yes... it takes several cranks and a little gas pedal to put fuel in the carb and let sit. But yesterday it was 97 degrees and it started right away. After I drive it, I can turn it off and start it right away.

Re: Cold starting

I've never driven my car on a hot day (haven't gotten one yet haha) My engine is fuel injected TBI. I wonder if it's just normal.

Re: Cold starting

I never had that problem last winter/spring. It would start right away. I have the 2.8L, V-6. I spent 15 minutes at work trying to get it to start. I am thinking to replace the cold start valve, but want to make sure.
