Help with spark problem

350 chevrolet computer controlled distributor

I don't think I'm getting any spark with it, I don't know for certain. I didn't feel anything holding one of the plug wires in my hand.

I switched distributors (with one that worked last time) and it's the same thing.

The engines out of the car. For the ignition wire I have one end clamped to the positive battery terminal and the other to the part labeled "BATT" on the distributor. the wire has 12 volts without crank and 10 volts cranking. I don't understand need help.
