TPI battery cable
I need to replace the alternator- does a 91 305 TPI car have a fusible link?? I want to bump up to the powermaster 140 amp- so I know I need to get a bigger + wire from alt to bat. Can I just piggyback a 4 guage with inline fuse onto the wire already there? If I have a fusible link, and it is bad, will the larger wire work around it? How can I check to see if it is bad if I have one? I have found a battery cable replacement online for $80- really heavy duty looking.

but, it describes a few extra wires that I am not sure my car has- or what they plug into " 15" 10 gauge wire to a female weatherpack connector and 16" 10 gauge wire with fuse holder with a male weatherpack connector"
