I have a 90 camaro rs 3.1 it won't stay running it starts runs 2to3 sec and dies sometimes it will run for 3to5 sec but if you give it gas it dies.does anyone know whats wrong with it changed tps,map,fuel pump,ecm. you cankeep it running on starting fuel

 

Check your work. Why did you replace your ECM? What was the problem that led you to that conclusion? That's quite a list of parts. Were they all actually bad? What problem have you been chasing? I suspect that there is a problem with either your VATS system, or fuel pump control circuit that's causing it to start and stall.

Check fuel pressure, injector pulse. Check each as this problem is happening by watching them while the engine starts and as you let off the key to run. Does any of them drop off as soon as you release the key?

 

i just got the car off my cuzin and they put all the parts on it what is the vats fuel pressure is 40psi

 

Vehicle Anti Theft System, or Passkey. It's a system that can disable the starter and the fuel injector control in the ECM if you try to start it with the wrong key or if it has a malfunction.

It sounds like someone's been throwing parts at this car trying to solve a problem. Has the start and stall been the issue all along? Perform the checks as I descibed them and tell us what you find.

 

the car set for a lil bit when my cuzin started driving it for a few days he started it and drove it one day and when he shut it off to test drive a new car he came back and car wont start and so this is what its doing

 

I've been through this more than once and every time I hope it's not the injectors. But it's always been the injectors. Take off the upper plenum and check the resistance on the injectors. They should all be around 13ohms give or take about 1 and they should all be more or less the same. If this isn't the case get a new set. But not GB remans from RockAuto!
