Are motor mounts the same?

Hi, I'm in the middle of replacing my motor mounts and I heard something about there being a difference between the two? My new ones have the same part number and I cannot tell the difference between the old ones in my car.

Left and right are slightly different, with different part numbers.

Re: Are motor mounts the same?

I was referring to the rubber mounts with the metal shells around them that bolt to the k member. They are different?

Re: Are motor mounts the same?

I am replacing mine as we speak. They are functionally identical, but there is one small corner that is trimmed from the bottom of the pass and driver side. I guess it makes it more flush against the k-member when looking from above.

Re: Are motor mounts the same?

I just took a look at the metal mount brackets that bolt to the engine and they both say 14037877

So I have 2 right side brackets?
These weren't from my car, they were on a 70's 350 block.
I got these two brackets two fit in the car last time..I'm confused.

Re: Are motor mounts the same?

i could be wrong, but i think that gm used the same style mounts for a lot of different vehicals with small blocks.

Re: Are motor mounts the same?

I was under the impression that the early '80s Monte Carlo used the exact same 305 mounting as the third gen Camaro. It seems plausible.
But when I ordered my Moroso mounts on Monday, I noticed they listed different part numbers for the late '70s Camaro than for the mid '80s Camaro.
