Fuel pump or.......HELP!

Hey everyone, I was wondering if you can help me with my 91' RS. Its a 305 TBI car and I have just done a valve job. Car is all back together and seems to be running fine, well most of the time.

I took the car to pick up the kid at school which is about 20 mins away, car drove fine. Left the school and took her to the store which was about 30 or 40 mins away, car drove fine. On the way home, about 30 mins or so, car ran fine for the first half of the ride, then threw a code and stalled. Immediately started right back up and drove for another 5mins or so and died again. Started right back up and drove for another 5 mins or so. started right back up again and limped it back home doing this every couple miles or so. I checked the codes and its throwing an O2 sensor code, which I know should only make it run rich and not the problem. The EGR code also came up. I have checked the EGR and I dont think there is anything wrong with it but I am not sure. Could this bee the problem or would you think it's the fuel pump getting weak? Possibly MAP sensor? I am stuck!

Hook up a fuel pressure gauge and check it. Its most likely the rubber hose connecting your fuel pump to the line, but as long as you have the tank down, go ahead and replace the pump too......you dont wanna have to do that too many times.....

Re: Fuel pump or.......HELP!

if you can hook it up to a scanner with datastream mode it would help you out a bit so you can read the sensors outputs and see it their are making sense. I used a snap-on scanner and worked pretty well I used it to set my Tps. Just so know I am having a stalling problem too (I get the rich code), the reason it happened was that the charcoal canister is filling up with fuel from the evap line for some reason (still on it) you should check that out if you have this emmisions equipment and all other fuel lines, while your at it like luvmy64 said.

Yeah, I am waiting on my fuel pressure gauge to come in the mail. Right now I am working on maybe swapping out the dizzy for a different one. If you have any input on that question, look for the post that says " Internal vs External coil" and reply please. thanks for the info too guys. Ill keep you posted.
