CAR WONT START HELP !!!!!!!!!
OK I HAVE AN 83 CAMARO, MY SON FRIED THE POSATIVE CABLE, AND IT WAS SMOKING AND EVERYTHING, SO REPLACED THE CABLE AND THE BATTERY, ALSO REPLACED THE STARTER AND ALTERNATOR, BUT THE CAR WILL NOT START STILL EVEN TRIED TO JUMP IT, AND SWAPPED WITH A GOOD BATTERY, I KNOW WORKED, BUT IT STILL WONT START, HAVE ANY SUGHGESTIONS

Try jumping the the starter solonoid. If it cranks there then the problem is further up the line. Nuetral safety switch or something else melted.

I had a similar problem. The key was not activating the starter. It ended up being the long conector where the steering column wiring hooks up under the dash, I cleaned the connection and used a bit of dilectric grease on it. I also added a push button under the dash, hooked up to the solenoid to start it while figuring this out. Hope this helps.

when you have the key in the ignition and in the ON position, is the ECM check engine light on? If its not on, then your ECM may be fried or the fuse blew.
