Witch starter should I get (Fast help PLZZZZZZZ)

I want to use my old 305 1987 flexplate (because it's on the car and the engine is now dropped); it's a 153tooth with the balancer on my 1987 1 pc RMS 355.

witch starter should I use.

The factory one don't work.

I also have a 168 tooth from a truck with no balancer laying down on the garage

I want to start the car tonight !!! HELP !

I'd avoid "witch" starters...

Are you saying your 1987 flexplate has a "balance weight" on it? If so, that is normal for the 1-piece rear main seal flexplates (which an '87 would have).

I'm assuming the 168-tooth flexplate is from a truck that is 1985 or older. That being the case, it won't bolt up to an '86-later 1-piece rear main crankshaft.

Why isn't your '87 starter working? Are you saying the starter doesn't bolt up, or the starter is bad and doesn't "work" as a starter? Both the flexplate and starter from an '87 305 should fit a 1-piece RMS 350.

A standard power mini-starter with a 4:1 gear reduction is what I have on my L98 and it turns the motor over with the voltometer barely diving while I do so. If you check out websites like summit you can use their tools to narrow the search results by inputting what block, flywheel tooth etcetc. Alsowith summit I do know if you have any questions about any product you can always call them and in my experience the Summit staff will take a lot of time to make sure you're 100% sure about the product.
