need help just got car back to garage!1

hey guys, ok long story short just rebuilt top end of motor sbc 350 " carb, intake, fuel pump, etc." ok got a holley 750 vac secondarys with no choke, edel. preformer rpm intake, and a race pump piston style fuel pump off of ebay. but not the actual race pump brand. ok here is what happened tonight. its been running great for two weeks up and down road then decided to cruise town will cruising around all the sudden car dies and shuts off so i pull over it cranks slow but no start. that ended up bad battery, fixed that then go to start engine and it cranks good but no gas or fuel pressure. wont spay into carb when hitting gas. only way to get it running is to spray carb cleaner to get it running then it builds and holds pressure and runs fine. any input on what may be causing the fuel problem would be appriciated. thanks again

this may sound simplistic

fuel must travel from the tank to the induction.

it requires a path and that is the fuel line. since gravity won't do it, a means to propel the fuel is needed and that is a pump. You have a fuel line, a filter and a pump before it arrives to the carb.

If you disconnect the fuel line from the carb does fuel flow? (use a coffee can or somtething to catch the fuel

if no flow, then you know which direction to chase your trouble
