88 5.7 Iroc run's rough when cold
Alright so Ive had this problem for a while the car idle's rough when cold, when first started I need to give it gas for a minute or so if not it turn's off, even after 10 minutes of driving if Im at a light it bog's down and die. I thought it might be a fuel problem so being that eventually I would do it I replaced the fuel pump with a BBK 255 lph, and changed the fuel filter and still it does it!!!
I checked all the wires and ground's and nothing seem's off.
WHAT GIVE'S?!?!?!?!

I would get some throttle body cleaner and clean up your bores and the IAC passage. Also the pintle on the throttle body is more than likely carboned up. It's best to pull the throttle body off and do a good clean up. Next check your EGR, you could have a weak spring causing it to stay open.

Any time i head that kind of stuff, my first thaught are going to CTS, maybe your coolant temperature sensor is off, therefore, indicate to your PCM that the car is hotter then it is really... i would have a look in there.
as per stated previously, also , look at the IAC motor.
the plunger could be dirty or gummed up.

alright so Im trying to get to the bottom of this so I started by cleaning the IAC valve. When I remove it the valve was really dirty and when I attemped to push it in the valve would not budge I figured it was due to the grime. I sprayed it down with carb cleaner and tried again but nothing. Is it fixed or should it be able to move?

I checked mine and I can move. Suggestion is go to the parts store and check a new one. Won't cost anything.

Well I went to the part's store the the tip din't move either so I bought it to try it. I installed the IAC sensor plugged everything up and WOW it run's great now!!! The only thing now is that the idle fluctuates a bit at start up but Ill keep tuning it.
I appreciate all the help Im new to muscle car's so Ive never really messed with the motor's much. Again thank's a lot and if you have any suggestion's on the idle and what not shoot em at me.
