engine makeover

Hello everyone! I just bought a 91 rs with the 3.1 v6. Yeah I know its not that beastly. Still fun though. Anyway, its been sitting for 4 years without any maintenance or driving. It has half a tannk of 4 year old gas and old oil. However, it cranks right up and runs like a scalded dog! I'm going to change the oil and oil filter, do a spark plug/wire change, and change the air filter to a k&n.

What should I do about the stale old gas? What else should I do under the hood? Should I sea foam it?

Re: engine makeover

id pull the conecter off the front of the fuel filter (so the gas isnt going through the fuel filter) then just jumper the pump and pump the gas out that way, fill it with good gas, change the fuel filter, put the chevron techron fuel injector cleaner in it and run most of the tank through then do the plugs and wires and what not and pray that the fuel pump doesnt die.

Re: engine makeover

siphon/remove as much of the old gas as possible . (use it up in your lawnmower) oil change , fuel filter change , ck. tires for dry rot , a good cleaning & insp. of all hoses and belts . drive and learn more about your car . enjoy & good luck .

Re: engine makeover

well the previous owner ran fuel injector cleaner through it. killed the fuel pump. replaced it. that was about a month before i bought it. so ill probably just get rid of the gas and change the filter. sound good?

and what about sea foam?
