So my camaro will strt and when I accelerate it goes vroom vroom vroom, after about 15 minutes when I accelerate it sputters and goes vroom vroom and this happens for about 15 minutes of driving until the sputter wins- the car stalls and then will not restrt for hours and hours, wth is going on?
***thnx for the responses midias and treefiddy, it is so frustrating but at least now i know the cause of the stall: it runs very good but then it strts to sputter at the acceleration and the sputter gets worse...sputter, is hard to expln, it is almost like the carb is getting too much gas and then flooding, cuz at the same time the idle strts to hesitate...but its a progressive kind of thing...****

Vapor lock?

Or ignition module in the dist - sure sucked the vrooms out of mine when it went bad
. Works fine cold, then gets hot and dies, until it cools down.

treefiddy- that is what i had heard so i had a friend totally redo the wires, plugs and distributor...would a new distributor have a new icm?

A new distributor would, but not a dist cap - did your friend install a whole new distributor?
Thnx camaronewbie I think just the cap, so that icm is not on the Cap? I don't know where that is?

It's down inside the top, under the rotor button. It has a metal plate on one side, has to get coated with dielectric grease (which should come with it).

For further diagnosis - does the problem seem to happen more frequently, or occur quicker, on hot days? Also is overheating involved?
