I have an 87 Camaro Iroc-z 5.0L V8 it is getting an engine swap at pep boys. the master tech told me that i needed a egr vacuum solenoid. i tried calling the dealer and many autoparts stores and they all say that GM discontinued the part. so what im asking is does anyone know where i can get one? im having a hard time finding it.

any suggestions would be great

yeah, from what I hear they are no longer manufactured or the one manufacturer went out of business.... you might try a place like Year One or Classic Industries, but I'm guessing your best bet is a wrecking yard. I suppose you might could use one from another vehicle of the same year and motor type, but not sure about that at all.

 

Mine is a 91, but might be same or similar. I just ordered one from advance auto parts and I know that o'rielly's carries one.

ok i know the threaD is old but all the websites and part # giving to me does not fit my camaro. is there anywhere else i can try getting it new before i go to the wrecking yard risking buying another bad one?

do you think that would work on my car. i have an 82 z28 cfi. I'm doing a complete restore and shredded mine as i pulled it off the intake and its discontinued everywhere.

 

You might need a new pigtail. Mine was different than the wiring harness. Although everything else was the same.
